Set in four hectares of beautiful bushland near Anglesea, this wonderful camp has easy access to picturesque beaches, exciting recreational facilities and the Anglesea shopping centre.  Its wonderful natural surrounds leave a lasting impression on all who visit.

The camp comprises 88 beds in 16 rooms in a quiet bush setting.  Our expert staff will make you feel at home in clean and tidy surrounds and can provide catered or self-catered options.   Site Coordinators will welcome you and make sure your group’s stay is rewarding and beneficial.

Burnside Camp is a Centre of the Uniting Church in Australia leased by the Baptist Union of Victoria under the management of Baptist Camping Victoria.

Site Co-ordinators welcome you and will work with you to make your stay the best that it can be.

Set in four hectares of beautiful bush land on Ellimatta Road on the Melbourne side of Anglesea, it is within walking distance of beaches, recreation facilities, and Anglesea shopping centre.

We have a program staff member who will help with your program. We provide worthwhile educational facilities and program ideas, which take in the beaches and the local bush with its flora and fauna which can cater for both summer and winter programs.

Rooms will be allocated on the ‘Hire of Camp’ form one month prior to camp.

Facilities

Burnside easily accommodates 88 campers in its 16 heated rooms.  The rooms range in size from 2 and 8 people.

To make your stay more comfortable, please bring sleeping bags, bed linen, blankets, towels, toiletries, personal needs and torch. Pillows and blankets may be obtained from the campsite.

Rooms will be allocated on the Hire of Camp form one month prior to camp.

For health and safety of the hire group, the number of campers sleeping per room must not exceed the number of beds.  Campers are required to keep rooms in a clean condition during their stay. Notices of any kind should be placed on glass or board provided and not on painted surfaces.

Programs

Burnside Camp offers a range of fun programs tailored to meet your group’s educational and social needs. These could be sessional or our staff can work with you to create a full program suitable for any time of the year.

Our staff are happy to run sessions for you with a limit of 2 sessions per day.  Full support will be given for setting up your program if requested. All programs are designed to help you take full advantage of the camp’s setting and the wider coastal environment.

We are developing the Centre to meet the changing regulations, so please discuss your program requirements with us before coming to camp. (A charge may be incurred if additional staff is required.)

There is no extra cost for on-site programming within the above guidelines.

Responsibility Clause

  • Camp leaders are responsible at all times for the health, welfare and behaviour of their campers, even when a Baptist Camping Victoria staff member is running a program. Camp leaders are responsible for the first aid of your campers at all times and must supply their own first aid equipment, even when camp staff runs an activity.
  • Baptist Camping Victoria staff are happy to come to your school to discuss your particular requirements or run an information session prior to camp. This will help set program themes and reassure parents about where their children are going on camp and who will be looking after them! We have DVDs that will assist with this process if required.
  • Baptist Camping Victoria staff are happy to assist you at any time and should be notified of all first aid assistance while at Camp.

Extra costs apply to outside providers – price available upon application.

If you use outside providers, it is your responsibility to ensure they are an accredited provider and all safety issues are assessed.

Gallery

The Centre is on the Surf Coast near the holiday resort town of Anglesea on the Great Ocean Road.  It is 113km from Melbourne and is easily accessible via the Princes Hwy and Geelong Ring Road.

The Centre is situated in the bushland at the end of Ellimatta Road, Anglesea just passed the cricket, football and netball clubs.
