• BCV Internship

The 12 Watts Internship has been established to offer a gap year to VCE students before entering university, the work place and for those still searching. This program is run in conjunction with Whitley Theological College and Victorian Fitness Academy.

This course is amazing, challenging, rewarding and it will push you in body, mind and spirit then allow time for reflection. Our Programming Staff are excited to have the opportunity to work with the interns. They will be trained in outdoor activities (Certificate 4 Sport & Recreation, grounds, Business admin), first year Diploma of Theological Study (5 subjects, Diploma of Ministry) and live with our team at the Anglesea Centres.

You are part of the Centre’s team and will work around the sites which cover all areas from cleaning, kitchen, maintenance, office as well as having a high focus on Outdoor Education. The program is set with a balance so there is time to do study, training and site work. This is a full live-in position working Monday to Friday with a weekend roster.  It will give you experience in all areas of camp and you’ll learn what a camping lifestyle is all about.

After the 12 months, you will be skilled in your area of choice.  This may be taking adventure activities, operating a kitchen, administration and along the way you’ll develop the confidence to work with young people from all backgrounds.

We believe God will empower you, change you and give you more focus for the future.

Interns 2016

My decision to come to Camp Wilkin was largely based on a desire to learn, grow and mature in my faith and character. I look forward to having the opportunity to speak into different people’s lives as they come through the camps, as well as journeying with other interns, camp staff and Anglesea locals. This year will be as challenging and as rewarding, but I’m confident that I will come out of it knowing that I’ve just lived one of the most worthwhile years of my life.

I’m keen to grow in my maturity, character and relationship with Jesus, whilst being involved in camp activities. Experiencing living out of home and working with lots of different people. The 12 WATTS program just sounded perfect for me.

After coming to Camp Wilkin for a week for year 12 retreat last year, I couldn’t wait to come back and saw this as the perfect opportunity. I’m looking forward to a rewarding and challenging year to grow in myself and in Christ.

I’ve been looking forward to doing this internship since I visited for work experience in 2012. I’m excited by the prospect of developing myself spiritually and in my leadership capabilities. I would also like to assist campers and peers in understanding who they truly are in Christ whilst enjoying and rejuvenating themselves at camp.
